Who’s That Hottie: Jean Danker

In this issue of Who’s That Hottie, we interview the gadget savvy bombshell with a sultry voice; Singapore’s very own MediaCorp artist and Class 95FM DJ, Jean Danker. Jean is also a voice-over talent involved in TV production acting in her most recent drama Restless as well as hosting health and beauty show “Body Beautiful, Adventures In Healthcare” and family game-show “Look Who’s Leading”.

What does a typical day in the life of Jean Danker look like?

The moment I open my eyes, I grab my BlackBerry and check all my messages, emails, Facebook and Twitter.  I can’t help it, I’m a slave to technology!  After a cup of coffee, I run off to do voice-over work, run errands, grab lunch and then hop into the studio to prep for my radio show Car-tunes on Class 95 FM.  I host the show with Mike Kasem from 5 to 8pm.  On other days, I have outside gigs to host, or Channel NewsAsia filming, so that involves slipping into something dressier, getting dolled up with hair and makeup.  My life is just GO GOGO!  I love it though, I can’t sit still!

What are you working on at the moment?

There’s my first love radio, which I’ve been doing since I was 16 years old. My radio show is Car-tunes on Class 95FM from 5 to 8pm.  Apart from that, you’d never have guessed but I’m a sports fan! I’m a regular guest on Channel NewsAsia’s SportWorld on Rapid Fire. I also review music albums for AM LIVE! on Channel NewsAsia, and do a lot of hosting outside and voice-overs of course.

On top of all that, I’m getting my partner Mike ready for the Green Corridor Run presented by Blackberry.  It’s happening on January 27 and I’ve been tasked to train Mike.  That comes easy to me because I used to represent my school in athletics on a national level, and we would do hardcore training 3 times a week. We’d be doing weights and cardio, including runs up a steep slope with my coach wrapping a piece of tyre around my waist for resistance training.  Tough!

These days, if I’m not on the treadmill, I’m taking brisk walks with Glenn and my dog Biscuit. We walk from my Holland Road condo to Botanic Gardens and back, fun!

Who or what are your biggest fashion influences?

I adore Victoria Beckham’s style very much – fitted, simple and classic, never over-accessorized.  Plus she loves her sky high heels, as do I.  This is one woman who knows exactly what she looks best in and I love her red carpet pose! Yes, its just one.

What are your favorite beauty tips and tricks?

Tip No. 1 - Be adventurous with colors! I only recently got hooked onto red lips and now I feel undone without them.

Tip No. 2 - Always moisturize your body right after your shower because that’s when your skin can absorb the good stuff best!

Tip No. 3 - If you want to have great looking hair, wash the night before, dry it completely then sleep.  You’ll wake up with a sexy voluminous bed head!

What are the must-have items in your handbag?

My Blackberry Bold 9900, Blackberry Playbook, Bottega wallet, makeup pouch, Chanel sunglasses, mints!!

What 6 words sum you up?

Passionate, charming, enthusiastic, independent, creative and tough!

Do you have a New Year’s resolution?

Yes!  To get rid of clutter in my life. That includes physical things like clothes/bags/shoes/makeup I don’t use, and toxic people and situations!  It’s the big cleanup in 2013!  That, and to take two or three big long trips this year.

Any career advice for our readers?

Do only what you love.  For if you love what you do, the money will surely come, guaranteed!  Once you’ve found what you love doing, work hard, always have a great attitude and you will definitely go far!  Good luck!

  1. CaraMabes

The white dress with the gold accent caught my attention. It's simple yet elegant. For sure, there are a lot of online shopping dresses in Singapore that sell simple and elegant dresses, but my all time favorite is CaraMabes.
