The world’s leading airport welcomes the LOUIS XIII Rare Cask 42,6. DFS Changi Airport at Terminal 3 launches the Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 for the first time in Asia.

A ‘Rare Cask’ is a single, extremely rare barrel discovered among the hundreds of century-old tiercons (oak barrels) that will go on to make LOUIS XIII cognac. Typically, no two tiercons are the quite the same. The LOUIS XIII Rare Cask 42,6 is one of the smaller ones with just enough inside to fill 738 decanters. This Rare Cask is distinguished by a small, though significant, increase in alcohol beyond the expected 40 percent. The LOUIS XIII Rare Cask 42,6 has a unique alcohol degree of 42.6. Thus its name.

The second cask to join Remy Martin’s Rare Cask collection celebrates the classic LOUIS XIII blend, a hundred years in the making. The Louis XIII Rare Cask 42,6 features salient aromas that are distinctive to this one cask. Notes of plum and dates, mingle with  flavours of gingerbread, prune stone and ginger, punctuated by a final touch of tobacco leaf.

The decanters are made from precious black crystal and required twenty craftsmen to work on each one.  A rose gold decor dresses the neck and the coffret is sealed with a gilded rose gold plaque.

All decanters are serial numbered from 001 to 738. Each bottle of this rare elixir can be yours for S$29,800 (US$23,000)
