Every season has its crowd pleasers, its melting pot of local sensibilities which champions itself in acclimatization to the fashion community’s tastes and social habits. And beyond that, there are also tribes who triumphantly toil – often flawlessly in terms of relevance.
Both schools of thought rode down the runway during a particularly palatable showing from YOUYOU for Spring Summer 2014 at the Digital Fashion Week 2013. Singaporeans Jac and Ziying are the brainchild to YOUYOU’s ingenuity – are visibly jubilant, and it was with these sentiments they took YOUYOU to a youthful freshness.
First, there were vibrant colors in delectable pairings in cerulean and mustards. Although there is no such thing as the perfect garment for Singapore’s humidity, the fabric selection efforts paid off with simple light ease.
Here, stripes are employed to dispel any weight bounded from the strong hues. YOUYOU was responsible for the dresses adopting a gracious bounce, tinged with a sporty streak from the backpacks.
One characteristic of the YOUYOU collection has always been the surprising mobility one is granted. It was at its best here because she understands her customers and blends her inclinations into one coherent whole. If our CBD area looked this way, it would truly be an exquisite place.
