Celebrating the Formula 1 race with an avant-garde fashion show on board the Lili Marleen. Fresh from its successful Stylolympics showcase during the London 2012 Olympics, STYLO, Malaysia’s fashion festival organizer took its Stylolympics ‘environmental’ creations to the Singapore Singtel Formula 1 race celebrations.
Collaborating with Somersby Cider and Asia Fashion Inc, the event was staged on board the Lili Marleen, a 250ft. Malaysian tall ship celebrating her maiden voyage into Singapore with host, President & CEO of STYLO Worldwide Ltd, Dato’ Nancy Yeoh.
22 year-old Hanif Naim, Malaysia’s Mercedes-Benz STYLO Emerging Designer of 2012 and Lorenzo Peh, his predecessor winner of 2011 featured a series of unique, eye-popping avant-garde creations featuring mythical sea creatures brought to life by the use of recycled cable wires, cutlery, dustbin bags, table covers, toilet paper and mosquito nets at the festival.
Providing support were finalists of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz Stylo Emerging Designers; Shadow Chew, Winnie Foo, P.Che Tan and Ellie Lim.
The second part of the fashion showcase was presented by Asia Fashion Inc featuring swimwear and underwear by Mileti and Quarter Homme for men supported by headgear designer Bremmen Wong.
The over-the-top masterpieces were complimented by over-the-top hair creations by Malaysia’s leading hairstylists, Winne Loo and Faevien Yee of A Cut Above.
