The Robotic Dress powered by 360Fash Tech Kits

The 360Fash Tech “Robotic Dress” Kit was showcased at Intel Developer Forum 2016 along with the Weather Dresses and worn by Anina Net, CEO of 360Fashion Network

The Robotic Dress has been showcased across the world at many events, however, it was first created for the GSMA-360Fashion & Tech Runway Show in Shanghai at Mobile World Congress that Anina Net created with Bruce Bateman and Designer Michal Starost.

Here is an overview of the dress created with the 360Fash Tech “Robotic Dress” Kit:

The Robotic Dress was created by Anina Net, on the concept of a woman’s multitasking lifestyle of being a CEO of a company and having a high profile social life. The Robotic Dress transforms from a day dress into a ball gown with the click of a button and using 6 servo motors. This version was version 6 of the Dress made in cooperation with Bruce Bateman and Polish couture designer Michal Starost.

Anina Net, wore the dress and played the protagonist at the final seen in the GSMA-360Fashion & Tech Runway Show. The protagonist came out on stage dressed as a CEO of a fashion company, checking the Misfit Shine Dress and the two Laser Dresses created by Michal Starost. Anina then proceeded to transform herself into an evening look by pressing a button which inflates the dress skirt into a ball gown shape using servo motors.

Bruce Bateman was integral in the birth of the Robotic Dress along with Michal Starost, Poland’s Couture designer. “One day I got a phone call out of the blue from Bruce Bateman, whom I had met through GSMA to work on the GSMA-360Fashion & Tech Runway Show at Mobile World Congress Shanghai. He had a lot of wearables that we could put in the show.” tells Anina Net. “Instead he said he had been thinking about my Robotic Dress idea and he came up with the solution for making the legs lift. I was so thrilled!”

Cri Radio make a documentary (see video below) about Anina Net and as it took place in the period of the Beijing Design Week Exhibition when Bruce Bateman and Anina Net worked on the Robotic Dress and Laser Dresses to showcase.

In the end the two of them worked very closely and finally found out that umbrella legs were the best choice, weight, size and flexibility. The runs on a 21 second program and is initiated with a button to start the program. The dress opens up to a ball gown effect using 6 servo motors and puffing up the skirt (see video below).
