A Taste of Iceland
Reyka Vodka recently celebrated Gillman Barracks’ 2nd Anniversary Celebration by participating in the festivities with an inaugural art exhibition in Singapore. Taking inspiration from the land of ice and fire, five artists got together to give their best interpretation of Reyka and the country it hails from – Iceland. A Taste of Iceland was an interactive art piece that played on the different flavor profiles of Reyka. With each colored thread representing the different ways guests could enjoy the vodka (neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail). Guests were also invited to connect five or more words which best describe the flavors of their drink. This created a final lattice pattern similar to the molecular structure of ice crystals.
Using raw materials and laboratory equipment, 6 Hoursaptly showcased Reyka’s inventive distillation process, highlighting five unique elements that make up its distinctive flavours. Mimicking the use of the Carter-Head still to produce small batches of Reyka, the art piece drews attention to the elaborate 6 hour process of distillation that ensures Reyka’s high quality standards. The Glow and Beyond the Sound of Northern Lights exhibit took cue from the Northern Lights in Iceland. The Glow and Beyond created a glowing effect with its neon blue light while the Sound of Northern Lights created a musical chime with Reyka bottles filled with different levels of colored liquid.
Putting an interesting spin on the word ‘Iceland’, Tell Your Children used the vastness of the oceans in Iceland and the coolness of the color cyan to create an art piece that portrayed an atmosphere of calmness and tranquillity. Reyka Vodka also teamed up with Kilo After Dark to host the after party for Gillman Barracks’ 2nd anniversary.
