The NZFD Designer Collections show at New Zealand Fashion Week 2013, was made up of five diverse, yet complimentary New Zealand women’s wear labels – Love Hotel, Mardle, Millicent, My Boyfriend’s Back and Sheryl May.
Love on line from Love Hotel was a chic cocktail of sexy chiffons, playful polka-dots, and romantic ensembles in whites, blacks, and pinks, that ooze sophistication and timeless style worn with stunning hats.
Mardle exquisitely combined the warrior esthetics from French saints to Joan of Arc, bringing together slim tailored pieces, romantic lace, velveteen, merino and a chrysanthemum printed chiffon.
Millicent’s A/W14 collection, named ‘Blur and Focus’ showcased a combination of texture with smooth & silky, fluid for firm and shine with deep jewel coloured hues of moss, purple and teal tell the story of modern femininity, effortless beauty and sophistication.
Sheryl May decides her collection to be a mystical Elizabethan tale which combines some stunning floral prints along with this collection’s signature print, the mystical owl.
The esthetics were romantic, fresh & feminine with an awkward edge. The collection feature lovely velvets, a combination of tartan, sheer floral prints and stylish layered pieces.
