Louis Vuitton is an icon of luxury and high fashion but it is also a powerful cultural force, as the brand showed at the opening of the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Dressed for the occasion in Richard Prince’s After Dark series, the museum was launched during the 17th French May Arts Festival, with LVMH boss Bernard Arnault and Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs themselves present.

Titled Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation, the event also celebrates the spirit and joie de vivre of contemporary Hong Kong. Other luminaries at the launch were Simon Yam, QiQi, Maggie Cheung, Takashi Murakami, Frank Gehry, Tan Yuan Yuan and, of course, Richard Prince.

The Passion for Creation exhibition is open to the public till 9 August.
