Before the Venice International Film Festival kicks into gear, longtime partner Jaeger-LeCoultre drums up the publicity. The Grand Maison will take advantage of the festival to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Calibre 101, pictured here. Jaeger-LeCoultre muse Diane Kruger wears it here, in a picture from the Cannes film festival, and gives you an idea of its proportions.
Calibre 101 is of course the smallest mechanical movement from the Swiss brand and remains the smallest such movement ever made. Like the quixotic films showing at Venice, Calibre 101 is a stroke of genius and is destined to play a strong role in the manufacture’s narrative for years to come.
