In One Breath by Gao Weigang
Espace Louis Vuitton Singapore is set to host its seventh exhibition of artistic and cultural expression – a solo showcase by Chinese artist Gao Weigang in collaboration with the world-renown curator, William Zhao. This will be Gao Weigang’s first exhibition in Singapore. The showcase will open on March 12 and continue through to May.
One of China’s top contemporary artists, Weigang’s exhibition at Espace Louis Vuitton Singapore will challenge patrons to contemplate their innate ideals and perspectives of the material world through a variety of mediums. The exhibit will feature paintings, sculptures and installations, including an ascending staircase that leads to nowhere, and shattered fragments of a mirror that have been reconstructed in a new order on a canvas. Infused with a sense of humor, the showcase takes viewers on a journey to examine their visual culture as Weigang explores societies, environments, desires and humanity through a conceptual body of works.
