“Christopher (De Vos) and I were looking at a painting of El Greco, the Spanish artist, online one day when we came across one artwork that was really dark but had some sort of glowing lights,” Peter Pilotto explained to Herbert Rafael, Founder of WardrobeTrendsFashion (WTF). “I thought it was fascinating and romantic in a very modern way.”
Pilotto and De Vos translated the essence of their inspiration into a dynamic colour palette used on an impressive line-up of sculpted dresses, puffer jackets and masculine silhouettes.
With their inventive printing techniques and strong fabrication knowledge, the London-based Belgian duo has perfected a sleek contrast between cheerily bright hues and architectural mannish shapes and created a stunning and commercially compelling fall/winter 2013 collection.
