Major athleticwear brand Adidas has a new ad campaign that’s not very athletic at all. They’ve tapped a diverse group of…we’ll say “tastemakers” to star in a print campaign and short film that we think is pretty cute.
In “All Originals Represent,” Nicki Minaj (remember her Adidas boobs in the “Give Me All Your Luvin” video) and Jeremy Scott (who designs for Adidas) screw around outside La Esquina in NYC; K-Pop phenomenon 2NE1 does some sort of flash mob dance routine in the middle of a Tokyo street; Sky Ferreira meets up with rapper Big Sean in Paris; NBA MVP Derrick rose makes an appearance in Chicago; and a group of pretty Brazilian girls party in Rio.
The campaign “zooms in to the sidewalks across the globe, showing the creative spirit from New York to Tokyo and from Paris to Rio de Janeiro,” according to a release. Adidas is also getting interactive with the whole thing–consumers can go to http://www.adidas.com/originals and “represent what they’re all about, as individuals and as part of a bigger whole – their crew.”
Later, people will vote on their favorite talent or crew in the country. Could you imagine if you had the “best crew” in the country? We’re not sure what that would mean, but it sounds awesome.
Anyway, watch the cool video below! Who knew Sky Ferreira and Big Sean were friends?
