We’ve shared with you, THE DIRT RADICALS “Enter Destroyer” Today, WTF presents to you an exclusive 1-on-1 interview with the one & only, THE DIRT RADICALS!
Making up the band are Sam Cooper, 28, lead vocalist, bass guitarist and songwriter, Mas Kimura, 28, vocalist and guitarist, and Matt Cooper, 25, vocalist and drummer. The Cooper brothers, Sam and Matt are originally from Australia while Kimura is from Japan.
Their previous accolades also include headlining major music festivals in Asia including Baybeats (Singapore), Union Way Fest (Japan), Java Rockin’ Land (Indonesia), HoHaiYan Festival (Taiwan) and playing alongside acts such as 30 Seconds To Mars, Good Charlotte, Guttermouth, ALL TIME LOW, Mxpx, Neon Trees and Deaf Havana.
They’ve also opened for some of the biggest names in the business, from Avril Lavigne, to Blondie, to Simple Plan, Sum 41, and Fall Out Boy.
The trio met in high school and have been playing as a band for over ten years. They are currently based in London, UK.
Being together for over a decade has given the band an intuitive synergy that explodes in their musicianship. Says Mas, “It’s weird… after a while you start to communicate with your band mates on a whole new level. We just understand each other instantly”.
Says Matt, “Our core influences haven’t changed that much over the years. We still stay true to what we love – good melodies and solid rhythm”.
