Bottega Veneta unveiled an expanded Home Collection at this year’s Salone del Mobile in Milan. The expanded collection featured new and innovative colors, textures and materials to enrich the maison’s already fantastic creations. As always, with Bottega Veneta, the new pieces in the Home Collection boast exemplary craftsmanship and functional design.
Among the notable additions to the collection is the new silver flatware that is now available in a new brunito colored finish – rhodium and ruthenium (from the platinum family) have been combined to create a dark antiqued effect over the sterling silver intrecciato-engraved base. Three new tables have also been added to the family of “floating” pieces(bronze-framed tables and desks combined with lacquered, intrecciato parchment leather that appear seemingly suspended below clear-glass surfaces).
Bottega Veneta’s showcase at the 2014 Salone del Mobile also featured the maison’s significantly expanded options in lighting. An evolution of existing variations the additions included a couple of ceiling lamps with shades, as well as a wall fixture constructed in metal and leather. Other pieces include a luxurious table lamp crafted of transparent handmade Murano glass, featuring a coaxial leather-covered wire, in addition to Bottega Veneta’s first rechargeable light offering; a cordless lamp that is wireless and only needs to be charged periodically.
