Photographer Aliza Razell merges photographs and watercolours to create narratives. The merging of two mediums allowed her to satisfy a creative impulse as “for a long time, I’ve been trying to find a way to include my love of storytelling in my photography.”
Her inspirations for creating these narratives stem from mythology, to essential human experiences and emotions. Her first series Anesidora was inspired by the Greek myth of Pandora’s Jar (unlike the commonly used Pandora’s Box, which Razell notes is a translation error). Her second series ikävä explores the feeling or missing someone or something.
