Architecture and design maestro Zaha Hadid not only has a hand in designing superstructures and skyscrapers, she has also lent her fluid-inspired (and sometimes space-age) designs to shoes, a coffee bar, even the humble water tap.
Hadid was one of 22 acclaimed designers invited by Alberto Alessi, third generation owner of Italian industrial design company Alessi, to create a four-piece coffee and tea service, inspired by the brand’s famous 1983 Tea and Piazza project.
As you can see from the pictures, the resulting work of art is classic Zaha Hadid: her fluid lines are immediately recognizable. Comprising a teapot, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl, this sculptural set could easily have been mistaken as a miniature of one of her architectural projects.
Explaining her design, Hadid said: “The teapot is a wide, flat organic shape, whilst the coffee pot rises from this landscape like a tower.”
Limited to 99 edition exclusively through 20ltd.com, this Zaha Hadid silver and coffee tea tower set is priced at GBP20,000 (or USD33 220).
