We doubt that The Louvre needs an introduction. What’s possibly the world’s most famous and visited museum in Paris, France, has housed Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece, the Mona Lisa, for ages.
To date tourists thronging to Paris just to get into the Louvre, can only gain access to the museum during six out of seven days in a week – due to a practice that sees the top tourist site closed one day a week, normally on a Monday or Tuesday.
The French government announced recently that the Louvre, the Palace of Versailles and the Musee d’Orsay – France’s top three most visited museums – will soon open seven days a week. The measure is expected to come into force between 2015 and 2017.
