Jimmy Choo’s empire, previously synonymous with to-die-for heels, has now expanded to include a new fragrance for 2011. Meant to be the finishing touch to the modern woman’s wardrobe, the House’s debut scent encapsulates all the feminine sexiness, glamour and confidence associated with their shoes. Who better to represent the Jimmy Choo woman than Tamara Mellon herself?

Tamara Mellon, OBE, Founder, Chief Creative Officer and all-round ambassador of Jimmy Choo, was the driving force behind the development of the new eau de toilette: “I have always loved wearing perfume; it is part of my identity. Now, to create a signature fragrance for Jimmy Choo, expressing an aura of strength and beauty, is my ultimate dream.”

The bottle, an orb-shaped, pink mirrored decanter that is evocative of Mellon’s favourite Murano crystal, holds a clear liquid that is with warm and rich with cedarwood base notes. The fragrance’s crisp top notes hint at spicy ginger, and its heart is a symphony of exotic Tiger Orchid and Tea Rose.

A mother, style icon and respected businesswoman, Mellon stars in the ad campaign for the fragrance, shot by prominent fashion photogs Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. The dusky rose wrap dress she dons for the campaign references the perfume’s sexy snakeskin packaging that was in turn inspired by a key python shoe in Jimmy Choo’s current collection.
