Over the past week, we’ve seen the finest representations of various Houses gifting the newly wed HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and Miss Charlene Wittstock with stylish, bespoke creations. Add Perrier-Jouët to the list, which provided the bubbly—personalized prestige cuvee Belle Epoque 2002, no less—for the royal couple and their guests at the official wedding dinner.

The 500 distinguished guests, including European royalty, Heads of State and other luminaries, enjoyed Perrier-Jouët’s Belle Epoque 2002 vintage, which complemented the delicate white chocolate covered wedding cake and was described by Hervé Deschamps, only the seventh Cellar Master since the foundation of the House in 1811, as the “ultimate expression of elegance and refinement of Perrier-Jouët distinctive signature style”. The reception was held on the beautiful terrace of the Opera Garnier, and dinner courses were crafted by Michelin-starred Chef Alain Ducasse and the Monte-Carlo SBM teams.

“Perrier-Jouët is greatly honored to have been chosen for the royal wedding,” said Breton, Chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët. “Having accompanied for many years the Monaco’s Rose Ball and Princess Grace Kelly, we are proud to be featured at the Prince Albert’s marriage with our most prestigious champagne.”

In a poignant side note, the foundation of the House of Champagne Perrier-Jouët was itself born of a marriage between its founders Pierre Nicolas Perrier and Adèle Jouët 200 years ago—making the bubbly a fitting, festive reminder of the timeless value of matrimony. A toast to that!
