Thirty years is a long time for any hotel in the current hospitality scene, and acknowledging the need for a facelift, Mandarin Oriental Jakarta dutifully closed in late 2007.

The hotel emerges from a 20-month makeover this October, with 272 guestrooms including 56 oversized Mandarin Rooms, the latest in-room gadgetry and mood lighting.

Designed by Lim, Teo and Wilkes (LTW), the hotel marries the best of the Group’s oriental heritage and Indonesian culture. There’s four new restaurants serving up a choice of international fare, Chinese and French cuisine, as well as an MO bar to unwind and take in the sights and sounds of the cityscape.

Guests staying at the hotel between 1 October to 28 December for a minimum two-night stay will receive a USD 50 voucher, which can be used in the hotel’s restaurants, bar and fitness facilities.
