Traditional cognac house Remy Martin recently revealed its 10,000 euro Louis XIII Rare Cask elixir, housed in a black crystal decanter created by Baccarat.
To begin with, Louis XIII is the rarest and most exquisite offering from Remy Martin, representing the pinnacle of the house’s traditions and know-how. The Rare Cask version here is actually bottled from a single cask identified by Cellar Master Pierrette Trichet in 2004.
This particular cask was of such unusual character and strength – up from 40 to 43.8 percent alcohol – that Trichet declared that it could never be duplicated because the results are a unique combination of nature and nurture.
Thus, she set it aside completely for a very special occasion. Crystal maker Baccarat provided a suitable decanter for this cognac by using the rare black crystal, which has never been used for such a purpose. Take note that the neck of the decanter has been executed in palladium, which we are more used to seeing in luxury watches. Louis XIII Rare Cask is available in a numbered and limited edition of 786.
