Lela Jacobs launched her Autumn 2014 collection at New Zealand Fashion Week 2013 full of mystical, understated and innovation designs with a vintage appeal, titled ‘DE.’
The Collection exudes a dark fairytale vibe accentuated by androgynous ensembles in conceptual, tailing silhouettes that make use of a monochromatic color palette of predominantly blacks, grays, whites and neutrals in lots of loosely-woven linens & vintage furs.
Convertible fluid garments with an artistic flair, Italian woollen black kimonos & raw silk 1920’s style dress shirts were the key pieces of the collection, worn with wild hair and unisex, utilitarian black leather desert boots.
Lela Jacobs is a master of detail bringing to life a personal culture reflected in the strong cultural and vintage elements as well as the selection of fabric, texture and experimentation used in the delivery of this collection.
What had to be everyone’s favorite look on the runway was the model styled in a leather crown which also happened to be the most instargammed pic of the night.
