Directed by Kyle Newman, Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness” is a saturated and visceral tour through a broken heart. Painting the dysfunctional love story between herself and actress Jamie King, the look and feel is very much akin to previous video treatments for “National Anthem” and “Video Games.”
While it’s unknown if “Summertime Sadness” will be the next official single off her LP Born to Die, there’s no denying that the “look” of Del Rey’s work is nearly as unmistakable as her sound. The track itself has an added beat to the original’s ballad, that features on her debut LP Born To Die. Watch the clip above to find out the conclusion of their love affair.
