It was a formal reception attended by government officials to fete Italy’s 69th Republic Day (June 2) and the nation’s 50th year of bilateral ties with Singapore. But as celebrations are with the Italians, delicious food brought conviviality to the evening.
The function in June hosted by the Embassy of Italy at The Clifford Pier at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore, saw guests mingling over an array of classic Italian fare of pastas, risotto and grilled meats. Booths were also set up along the sides of the event space, where guests could get a taste of aromatic olive oils and wines from Italy, and plot their next Mediterranean getaway.
In between, Italian ambassador Paolo Crudele and Singapore’s minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office Sam Tan addressed the crowd and raised their glasses to the longstanding bond between the two countries.
