Isabella Rosselini has collaborated with Bulgari to release a new handbag line. While the Italian luxury brand has yet to release the product shots, here’s a first look at the campaign and behind-the-scene images.
Fronted by the 60-year-old actress and lensed by acclaimed American photographer Annie Leibovitz, the A/W12 campaign is a nod to classic Italian neo-realism.
Shot in Leibovitz’s New York studio, Rosselini dons a figure-hugging black dress and a sumptuous red bag in the images, channelling quite a different aesthetic from what we’ve seen coming out of other brands so far. Art buffs will recall the works of Meredith Frampton, the 19th century British painter known for his highly stylised portraiture.
A signature piece in the 2012 Isabella Rossellini range, the bag is crafted from hand-pressed red calf leather and features a red enamel closure with a rock crystal twist lock. Each bag will feature a lining with Rossellini’s signature.
