David Koma is a Georgian born fashion designer who has become synonymous with the ultra body contouring silhouette. Creating heavily embellished statement dresses inspired by the feminine form; it is this design element that has projected the young designer onto the international stage.
After studying Fine Art in St Petersburg and showing his first collection at the age of 15, David Koma moved to London in 2003 to take up a place at the prestigious Central St Martin’s College of Art. It was here that he channelled his love of fashion and honed his design skills to create his signature look. He completed his BA in Fashion Design and graduated with a distinction in MA Fashion in April 2009 under the mentorship of Professor Louise Wilson, OBE.
It was with this graduate collection of sculptural, statement dresses that he won the Harrods Design Award and subsequently attracted some of the world’s most beautiful and successful women in both music and film to wear his pieces. Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Megan Fox, Alicia Keys, Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue all created a media frenzy by wearing his clothes.
Koma graduated from the prestigious NewGen sponsorship and presented his Spring Summer 2013 collection on the British Fashion Council runway.
