This week, Hublot and their longtime friends from Manchester United teamed up for a charity auction in New York, in aid of the club’s Manchester United Foundation.
Man U players took time out of the five-city US tour to attend Hublot’s “Art of Fusion Fashion Show” at Cipriani Wall Street, a runway show that showed off the latest timepieces from the Swiss manufacture.
The show was rounded off by a live auction of collector’s items like Sir Alex Ferguson’s own Hublot All Black Red and other soccer limited edition paraphernalia. Proceeds from the raucous sale will benefit disadvantaged youth and soccer fans worldwide.
When asked to give his thoughts on the special auction, Manchester United’s Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Through the power of football, the Manchester United Foundation will develop our youngsters so that they are able to acquire qualities which will remain with them through life—being positive, believing in themselves, working hard and recognizing the importance of teamwork. These are all attributes which I instill every day in our players.”
Hublot’s friendship with the Red Devils has spawned three collector’s timepieces, the latest of which is the spectacular King Power Red Devil. “We love working with Manchester United. They are extremely creative and concrete in their partnership approach and, like we do at Hublot, strongly believe in sharing and giving,” said Hublot’s CEO Jean-Claude Biver.
