Swiss manufacture Hublot is feting the United Kingdom, home of the legendary Formula One race, with the sporty new limited edition F1 King Power Great Britain.
As the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1, Hublot’s F1 King Power Great Britain is a special ode to the exhilarating art of racing, and is available to fans of both fast cars and flashy timepieces in a limited edition of just 250 numbered pieces.
Here are some snazzy features that will get horologists all pumped up: the materials used, for one, are all racing-inspired: the bezel is wrought from carbon fiber and ceramic with an attractive circular-grained satin finish, accented with perforations that reference high performance brake discs, as well as the push-buttons for starting and resetting, and a 30-minute to 3-hour counter.
Meanwhile, the strap is black alligator horn back stitched onto black rubber, with a flash of color courtesy of contrast red stitching. The case is made of 18K “King Gold”, Hublot’s monicker for the 18 carat gold alloy used by Hublot, notable for its rich, intense hue. To achieve the trademark flame-red, Hublot metallurgists upped the percentage of copper and added stabilizing platinum; the exact composition of this mysterious alloy is only privy to Hublot watchmakers.
The F1 King Power Great Britain will retail at SGD$64,800, and is limited to 250 pieces worldwide. Available from August.
