Following on the heels of their journey to Jodhpar, India in December 2011, Hennessy held an exuberant Journey of Appreciation in Macau last month.
The evening was hosted by Shaine de Venny, managing director of Moet Hennessy Diageo Hong Kong and Nicolas Fleury, chief finance officer of Moet Hennessy Asia Pacific, alongside actor and singer Julian Cheung, and Francis Lui, vice chairman of Galaxy Entertainment Group.
Unfettered by the light showers, the Hennessy X.O Mathusalem was unveiled amid much fanfare at Banyan Tree Macau on April 20. Israeli artist Arik Levy combines his artistry and penchant for natural materials, dressing the Mathusalem ‘trunk’ in sumptuous Barenia calfskin – its surface embossed with intricate honeycomb pattern upon closer inspection.
Limited to a hundred pieces worldwide, each Hennessy X.O Mathusalem by Arik Levy is numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity.
Guests then piled into the dining hall – dreamily accented with flower blossoms and candles – for a lavish French-inclined menu, conjured by Matias Martinez, executive chef of Banyan Tree Macau.
After the sumptuous meal, guests were escorted to China Rouge – dubbed the ‘forbidden chamber’ for tastemakers and party-goers – where the revelry continued late into the night. Guests in attendance included Roger Lau, Candy Lo, Lily Li, Sheila Chin, Isabel Leung, Alex Law, Mabel Cheung, Olivia Lee Davies, Sean Lee Davies, Ankie Beike, Ankie Lau, Rick Chin, Tisha Law, Otto Chan, James Shing, Yu Siu Bo, Almen Wong, Marchy Lee, Roland Cheng and Qinnie Chan
