If you’re staying in a select bunch of Fairmont Hotel with what is called a Canine Ambassador, then you can take the resident dog for a stroll. It’s perfect for anyone missing their pet pooch or simply looking for a companion for a walk.
The newest member of Fairmont’s Canine Ambassador team is Zeus, a Chocolate Labrador currently overseeing interactive guest appreciation at the Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa in California. He keeps an eye on a multitude of lobby activities, co-leads guest hikes and assists in grounds supervision of the 226-room property.
Many of the animals were orginially trained as guide dogs before a change in careers beckoned. They all have email accounts and some even have their own Facebook pages.
Though limited in numbers, Fairmont hotels offering the Canine Ambassador service stretch from Canada to Kenya.
