The Emirates Singapore Derby will return to the racetracks this Sunday, on July 12, once again in inimitable and impeccable style. It is a major milestone for the airline as it celebrates a 20-year partnership with the Singapore Turf Club, one of its longest-standing in the history of its sports sponsorships, alongside that of the Collingwood FC in Australia. The S$1.15 million stakes puts it among the richest races in Singapore.

The Emirates Singapore Derby is also the third and final leg of the Singapore Four-Year-Old Challenge, a series of races run over varying distances, restricted to four-year-old horses. Graced by horse-racing enthusiasts and Emirates’ partners, the event also supports the local community with fund-raising activities on race day.

Apart from the adrenaline-pumping action on the race tracks, runway fashion is also on the cards as guests come dressed to impress and a chance to win the highly coveted title of “Best Dressed to the Races”. The winner, selected by a distinguished panel of judges will walk away will a pair of business class tickets toMelbourne with accommodation and parade lounge passes to catch the Melbourne Cup this year.

“With the running of the Emirates Singapore Derby in July, the Club will be celebrating a history-making 20 years of partnership with Emirates, an award-winning airline. Over the years, the Emirates Singapore Derby has become one of the most-anticipated annual social and sporting events in Singapore. Singapore Turf Club will once again present one of the best horse races on turf while Emirates will showcase an exciting combination of glamour, fashion and fundraising for charity off the racetrack. We are very thankful for the longstanding partnership with Emirates and look forward to celebrating more good years together in future.” said Yu Pang Fey, President and Chief Executive of Singapore Turf Club.

To encourage more people to participate in the “Best Dressed to the Races” title, Emirates is partnering with leading fashion magazine Elle to stage a pop-up fashion installation at ION Orchard from July 2nd to 5th. Fashion-forward shoppers can use derby-style accessories available onsite to style themselves and submit their photographs. The five best-dressed winners and their partners will each receive an invitation to the Emirates Singapore Derby 2015 and compete for the Elle & Emirates “Best Dressed to the Races” title, an additional category this year. The overall winner will receive two Business Class flights, accommodation and hospitality passes to the Dubai World Cup 2016 which is the richest horse race in the world.
