Ember Equipment, a small team of industrial designers and product developers from San Francisco, California, has come up with a product that simply cannot be ignored. The group’s first ever product, the Ember Backpack, is a sleek urban-travel backpack that features a modular system that incorporates military-styled pouches and hard cases that attach using magnetic couplings, utility straps, compression straps, cargo handles, a laptop sleeve, a cellphone case etc – all of which can be attached or removed as the user sees fit.
The Ember Backpack seems like the perfect travelling companion, be it urban or outdoors – not to mention global travel. Each material used to create the Ember Backpack has been chosen for its particular performance characteristics as well as aesthetic quality. The backpack is made using materials like black-grid water-proof cordura nylon, bonded hypalon, custom anodized aluminum hardware, bonded ykk weather-proof urethane-coated zippers, magnetic coupling hardware, internal frame-sheets and genuine leather. Don’t worry, we don’t know what most of that means either. As the folks at Ember Equipment say “The pack is designed and crafted in obsessive functional and aesthetic detail.”
