Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana look towards China with a special focus and introduce a capsule collection in which the soul of the Italian Maison, merges with the East in a new game of contrasts – the Dolce & Gabbana China Special Collection. The collection is inspired by the designers’ continuous desire to discover its’ beauty, as well as understand China’s history, its’ people, and their habits – all of which have kept the two of them returning to the Asian country over the past years.
This collection is therefore a tribute to the love born from these intense feelings, which has been translated into a limited edition capsule collection of clothes and accessories in time to celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year. The result is a series of eclectic looks where lace, brocades, and traditional foulard prints by Dolce & Gabbana all merge with the symbolic color of China: Red.
“We have been in love with this country ever since our first visit. We immediately felt at home, it was a very intense and beautiful feeling, something that rarely occurs when we are abroad. There are so many things in common between our cultures, we instantly felt a special bond that connects us: family values, pride in traditions, and the desire to pass these values to the younger generations, even if viewed with a modern eye… all these points and many others create a very special bond between Italy and China, which ties them together like few other places in the world,” say Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
