Christian Louboutin has got his hands full of designs to dress our feet in style. Since 1991, the renowned footwear designer has been consistently rolling out shoes and bags to add to the collection of his eponymous label. Like all, we are sure that even Mr. Louboutin has few of his designs categorized as favorite. Barneys New York has bought this to horizon by requesting the designer to pick his favorite pieces from his Fall 2014 shoe collection. Christian Louboutin has hand-picked seven pairs of red soled heels along with one handbag to add to his these-are-a-few-of-my-favorite-heels list.
Each selection has been accompanied with a valid reason to make it to his preferred designs available at the American department store.
Sporting animal print, the Glitter Pigalle Follies Pumps are up for $625 and are favored because of its high heel. The designer encapsulates, “A woman tells a story with her clothes, but it’s the shoe that carries her. With a high heel, it’s all about the body language. The heel changes the posture, and there is a new perception. It can seduce—especially in an animal print.”
Speaking about the Bille Et Boule Studded Pumps, he opened up about his love for mixing materials like patent leather and PVC. This design also stands out for the contrast between the feminine bow and masculine studs. Pick them up for $1,295 from Barneys.
Black fishnet paired with natural color mesh renders a semi-transparent effect and reveals the hidden nudity of the $795 Follies Resille Pumps.
The Orange Pigalle Follies in vibrant orange reminds Mr. Louboutin of a Bird of Paradise flower. Step in them for $625.
The sensual purple shade of the Cutout Galata Pumps appeals to the French designer. Add them to your shoe closet too for $945.
“The iconic Pigalle is simple and balanced—I’ve never seen anyone who didn’t look good in it.” This is how Christian has described the $625 black pump.
Asserting that every woman should have a nude shoe, the designer added the Iriza Half D-Orsay Pumps to the list. He also declared that it becomes an almost organic part of the body and it’s like an extension of the woman, not an accessory.
The only other accessory that made it to his selected list apart from the drool-worthy heels is the Tiger-Print Ponyhair Rougissime Clutch. Trimmed with a stripe of red enamel on the metal-bar closure, it can only be seen once the bag is opened. Mr Louboutin elucidates, “it is like a secret between me and the wearer.” Clutch the designer’s favorite clutch for $1,350.
Christian Louboutin rightly quotes, “A woman tells a story with her clothes, but it’s the shoe that carries her.”
