Food connoisseurs can literally pop the champagne when the integrated resort Marina Bay Sands open in Singapore next year. Housing amongst other things convention and exhibition facilities, a rooftop skypark, 2,500 hotel rooms, a museum, and theatres, the Sands will also mark a first for Singapore’s culinary scene – a constellation of six celebrity chefs will be gracing its dining scene.
Make a toast to these extraordinary contemporary culinary talents who hail from all over the world – Mario Batali and Daniel Boulud from New York, Wolfgang Puck from Los Angeles, Santi Santamaria from Barcelona, Guy Savoy from Paris and Tetsuya Wakuda from Sydney.
With cuisines inspired by the various native cultures, the six distinguished chefs will weave their culinary magic by giving their menu a local twist at six differently themed restaurants located at different parts of the resort.
Chefs Santi Santamaria, Guy Savoy and Tetsuya Wakuda will set up ‘shop’ on the mezzanine level of the casino while the restaurants of Mario Batali, Daniel Boulud and Wolfgang Puck can be found near Marina Bay Sands Theatres.
Each chef is fully hands-on from interior design to menu concepts, and is expected to bring experienced members of their own team to helm their Singapore flagships.
“Singapore will become the culinary epicenter of Asia. The quality of these six chefs will make Marina Bay Sands a dining experience that is beyond comparison,” said Mr. Thomas Arasi, CEO and President of Marina Bay Sands.
