This holiday season, a wonderful blend of exquisite cuisine and exhilarating entertainment is on offer at Banyan Tree Phuket, Thailand. A festive programme including sumptuous gourmet dining choices, plenty of champagne and fine wines, fireworks, as well as the smooth sounds of JIVE, Thailand’s own internationally-recognized band and DJ are all part of the splendid celebrations hosted by the resort. The festivities begin in earnest in Tré Restaurant on Christmas Eve with a dinner menu specially designed by Executive Chef Alfonso de la Dehesa, a former Chef of two 3-star Michelin restaurants, including Spain’s El Bulli, considered by many to be the best restaurant in the world.
For a gastronomic feast, The Watercourt restaurant features a marvelous buffet spread including a fresh oyster bar and salmon station, specially-prepared ceviche, barbecued lobster and king prawns, mouth-watering roasted turkey with all the trimmings, suckling pig, glazed ham and plenty more, along with a wonderful selection of traditional and contemporary desserts. Both venues ring in the holiday spirit with live music, and a Christmas Day Brunch with traditional eggnog and other pick-me-ups to keep the celebration going the following day.
Usher in 2016 at the majestic Banyan Tree New Year’s Eve “The Retro” Gala. From 7pm on December 31, the festivities begin with welcome cocktails and live entertainment. This includes a live band and singer from the famous “The Voice Thailand” filling the air with all your favorite retro tunes. The New Year’s Eve feast opens with a fine selection of charcuterie and cheeses, along with a foie gras station and a myriad of other delicacies. A beef teppanyaki station, alongside the chef’s special slow-roasted saltbush lamb with mint jelly, is one of the many culinary highlights. The evening also features fine champagne, a photo booth (with costumes), floating lanterns on the lagoon, and fireworks to celebrate long into the night. For a more intimate option, a special New Year’s Eve glamour set dinner is also available for diners at Banyan Tree’s newly-redesigned Saffron restaurant.
