The first pop culture auction ever held in Asia (featuring memorabilia from around the world) will take place in Macau on October 9.
Hosted by Julien’s Auctions, a particular highlight will be a host of Michael Jackson possessions including stage costumes, original paintings, handwritten notes and a rare black Swarovski crystal glove (est. $30,000- $50,000). It was worn during his promotional campaign for the album HIStory: Past, Present and Future.
Another glorious piece up for grabs is a velvet ball gown worn by Princess Diana in 1989 (above) to an event at the French Embassy in honour of French ambassador, Vicount Luc de La Barre de Nateuil. Valued at $80,000-$100,000, it will appear alongside memorabilia from the lives and careers of Madonna, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe and Bruce Lee.
The shoes pictured (above) were in fact worn by Bruce Lee for “Game of Death”, Columbia Pictures, 1978.
Ghostbusters, The Batman film franchise, The Legend of Sleepy Hallow, Babylon 5, Krull, The Last Starfighter, Heroes, 24, will likewise be represented in some form or other.
The sale will be held at Ponte 16, Macau SAR, China.
