For the first time, Absolut Vodka will be touring twenty pieces of renowned artwork from its Art Collection in seven cities across the Asia Pacific region. The collection, currently owned and curated by the Historical Museum of Wines and Spirits in Stockholm, Sweden, celebrates creativity and popular culture, and includes works by modern greats such as Andy Warhol, Francesco Clemente, Rosemarie Trockel, Béatrice Cussol and Angus Fairhurst, to name a few.
“On display at the Absolut Art Collection Exhibition will be a range of artists known for their work in the pop art, trans-avant-garde and modern spheres. The selection spans across a variety of mediums such as canvas, plexiglas and tin, to photography and paper. It is an inspiring collection,” said Anna Malmhake, Vice President Global Marketing at The Absolut Company.
“The Exhibition will allow us to showcase an important part of our heritage, and also support the local art-world in Asia Pacific and seek inspiration for future campaigns.”
The Absolut Art Collection Tour has already traveled to several Asia Pacific cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Dubai and Sydney. In New Delhi, for example, Absolut collaborated with contemporary artist Subodh Gupta, known for elevating readymade projects into sculpture.
Other highlights of the Absolut Art Collection Exhibitions include collaborations with Seoul-based artists such as Byun Dae Yong. After the Seoul stopover, which will run from April 12 to 25, the Tour will visit Beijing in mid-May at the Today Art Museum and Shanghai in mid-July at the Long Men Art Gallery, before returning to its permanent home in Europe after the Asia Pacific tour wraps up on July 31.
