Gourmands are in for a treat at Singapore’s finest dineries this week, with the opening of the World Gourmet Summit 2011. Celebrating exquisite creations by the world’s leading chefs and experiential wine tastings from the world’s top vintners, the Summit, Asia’s foremost gastronomic event, will be held between 25 April and 8 May 2011.
Supported by the Singapore Tourism Board, the annual epicurean festival encompasses a series of 54 themed events such as gourmet safaris, vintner dinners, celebrity dinners and master-classes with some of the most iconic names in the culinary world. With the participation of 14 hosting establishments and 12 hospitality partners, these events will be hosted in Singapore’s premium restaurants and hotels, adding a glamorous dash of dynamism to the already vibrant local gastronomic scene.
To celebrate the festival’s 15th year Crystal Anniversary, attendees can look forward to offerings from a stellar cast of chefs, including Andrew Turner from Wiltons in London, Edward Kwon from The Spice in Seoul, Michael Ginor from LOLA in New York and Rachel Allen from County Cork in Ireland. This year, a large number of Asian masterchefs such as Chef Yuji Wakiya, owner of Wakiya Ichiemicharou in Tokyo, will also be in attendance to demonstrate their culinary finesse.
