The Ritz-Carlton has opened its second Shanghai home: The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong.

Rainer Burkle, area vice president and general manager, said: “While The Ritz-Carlton Portman, Shanghai at Puxi has established its name over the past decade as the most preferred luxury hotel in the city, I have no doubt that The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong will prove itself to be another quintessential business and social centre for domestic and international travellers alike.”

Located on the top 18 floors of  Shanghai ifc, the hotel was designed by architect Cesar Pelli and spans 285 rooms. The styling is contemporary with hints of 1930s Shanghai Art Deco and the guest units range from 500-4,000 square feet.

Offering panoramic view of the Bund, eating options include Aura Lounge and Jazz Bar, Jin Xua (a fine dining Chinese Restaurant) Scena Italian Restaurant, and Flair Rooftop Restaurant and Bar – the highest al fresco eatery in the city.

Elsewhere you’ll find The Ritz-Carlton Spa by ESPA which comprises 10 treatment rooms and incorporates Chinese, Indian, European and Balinese spa techniques.
