Singapore, known for its great fashion in women’s high street and couture genres is set to host the first ever Men’s Fashion Week (MFW) scheduled for 30 March to 3 April. The event is being organized by Fide Multimedia Pte Ltd and One International Holdings Pte Ltd.
The event is to be something as big as any fashion week with most designers scheduled to be flown down to Singapore. The tickets are also open for public purchase and according to reports some 30pc of the total has been land marked for it.
The idea of getting top notch labels and fashion houses of the world dealing in men’s wear to come out and show case their collection on the ramp.
The buzz doing the rounds suggests that there are at least 15 top notch labels from across the globe that are going to showcase their latest collection in formal as well as casual wear for men.
Amongst the top brands names like Etro, Boss Black by Hugo Boss, Emmanuel and Versace there are also names like Shanghai Tang and Raoul which are scheduled to showcase their Autumn-Winter 2011 collection. This is going to be the first ever official show of their collection and Singapore is the chosen destination
The fashion event is to have two of the best male models from the local celebrities namely Utt Panichkul and Julian Hee making a splash on the ramp along with a host of other models.
Asian male supermodel Philip Huang, who has walked the runways of Paris, Milan and New York, has been appointed the “face” of MFW and will take the catwalk for various brands.
