Luxury watch brand Audemars Piguet joins together with the Hong Kong Jockey Club for the 16th Audemars Piguet Queen Elizabeth II (QEII) Cup, a prestigious and exciting event for racing enthusiasts.
On April 9, Hong Kong socialites and celebrities like Karson Choi, Jimmy and Emily Tang, Josephine Lau, Caroline Roberts and Andy On gather for the Selections Announcement of the race, where the 14 selected runners were announced and the race was unveiled. The race will take place on April 27 at Sha Tin Racecourse, with a top prize of HK$14 million, and where the world’s most revered jockeys, owners and trainers will compete for the prestigious prize.
This years Ambassador of the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup is Michelle Reis, owner of two horses, Charles the Great and Kabayan who are in training. Reis appeared at the event and wore the Audemars Piguet QEII Cup 2014 Royal Oak Offshore Diver Limited Edition watch, an exclusive timepiece as only 150 pieces were produced world wide. She joined William Nader, Executive Director of Racing of HKJC and David von Gunten, CEO of Audemars Piguet Hong Kong and China, who announced the 14 runners. Models Jocelyn Luko and Jason Heiber also showed off elegant watches from Audemars Piguet.
Michelle also designed a 3D horse photo frame, where guests took photos in. She presented the sketch on stage, explaining that the design was inspired by the iconic QEII Cup logo.
This is the first of many exciting events to come – after the unveiling of the QEII Cup and the Selections Annoucement, the Barrier Draw will be held on April 24, where the horse connections draw their stall number. On April 25, an exclusive gala party will be held, hosted by HKJC and Audemars Piguet, followed by the exciting QEII Cup race on April 27.
