Singapore’s world-class shopping belt just got that much livelier, with the official opening of the high-end mall Scotts Square. Strategically located between the Grand Hyatt and Marriott, Scotts Square’s high profile location and elegant mix of retailers—which include Hermès, Sincere Fine Watches and On Pedder— will offer luxury shoppers another destination for designer labels, fine dining and wealth and banking services.
The grand opening saw a select group of local celebrities and members of Singapore’s high society mingling, flutes of bubbly in hand. They were attended to by the host of the evening, the gorgeous Andrea de Cruz, and treated to a soulful gig by bossa nova songstress, Olivia Ong. The fashion houses represented at a seasonal runway show included Michael Kors, Leonard Paris, Kiton and Paul & Joe.
The expansive, light-suffused designer space will also be dotted by sculptures from some of the most prominent artists in the world: Salvador Dali, Henry Moore, Bernar Venet and Dale Chihuly, to provide an enhanced, all-round shopping experience.
The retail podium rests below Scotts Square’s two super-luxurious residential towers. Owned by listed company Wheelock Properties, Tan Bee Kim, Director of Wheelock Properties, had this to say at the grand opening: “We are pleased to introduce many exciting brands and artwork that we have assembled in this mall for the modern, well-travelled and discerning shopper.” A toast to that!
