(L-R) HRH The Princess Caroline of Hanover and Robert Wilson at ‘Voluptuous Panic’, Robert Wilson’s 70th birthday dinner at Studio Elmgreen & Dragset in Berlin, Germany
Last weekend, Montblanc celebrated the brand’s longtime friend and multi-hyphenate artist, playwright and director Robert Wilson’s 70th birthday, at an auction gala dinner replete with art performances and big-name guests.
Wilson’s creative signature has been seen in various Montblanc-sponsored events, most notably at the “Writing Time” exhibit at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2008 in Geneva. The multimedia performance, set to the haunting music of his award-winning composer and friend Philip Glass, celebrated the launch of the Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph, the first Montblanc chronograph with its own in-house movement.
Robert Wilson, a true patron of the arts, has also served as an international juror for the Montblanc de la Culture Arts Patronage Award a record four times, underscoring his dedication to recognizing modern day philanthropists whose commitment, both financial and personal, have kept the arts and horological culture alive, even in challenging times. Happy birthday, Robert Wilson!
