Legions of Christian Louboutin devotees are losing their heads over the limited edition Marie Antoinette shoe collection. Inspired by the 17th century French queen and icon of excess, only 36 pairs of these candy-coloured platforms have been created.
In collaboration with world renowned embroider, Franco Indian Textile Group, Louboutin channels the extravagant sartorial style of Marie Antoinette, showering the satin platforms with a deluge of coloured beads, chiffon ruffles and velvet linings. The ankle strap features a removable porcelain doll face wearing the distinctive coif of the queen.
Available in deep turquoise, pink or yellow, the shoes were on display in Singapore till 17 May but have since been relocated to Jakarta, Indonesia.
