The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo has launched a “Si Fong Choi” private dining experience in its Michelin starred restaurant, Sense.

The Chinese term “Si Fong Choi” refers to a private dining experience that is presented by a distinguished chef, in this case Master Chef, Kenichi Takase.

Limited to eight guests per month, the Cantonese meal will feature extremely inaccessible ingredients in Japan and will have seasonal themes. A range of beverages, from Shàoxīngjiǔ (Chinese rice wine) to Chinese tea, will be selected to complement the dishes and guests will be welcomed and entertained by Chef Takase himself.

The Si Fong Choi experience is available from January 2011 with prices starting from JPY55,000 per person including beverages.

Sense has been awarded one-star in the Michelin Guide Tokyo for three consecutive years.
