Bombay Sapphire has teamed up with Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Complex Media to present a one-of-its-kind creative venture, the Annual Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series. Now in its 2ndyear, the Artisan Series is a nationwide hunt for emerging visual arts talents in the USA. Aristic souls are encouraged to submit an original piece of art via www.facebook.com/BombaySapphire by September 7, 2011.
Russell Simmons, chairman of GlobalGrind.com and co-founder of the Rush Philanthropic, says, “The BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Artisan Series has established itself as a platform for emerging artists who seek to shape our contemporary cultural landscape—artists who look to defy boundaries with the power of their imagination. With the extraordinary success of last year’s program, I am excited to see what emerges from this year’s roster of talent.”
Submitted works would be reviewed by an esteemed panel of judges, including Andre Guichard, Rush Philanthropic co-founder Danny Simmons and Jux-featured Miami-based artist Miguel Paredes.
“As an artist, it is an honor to be a judge for this year’s BOMBAY SAPPHIRE Artisan Series,” Parades said. “I’m looking forward to meeting many of South Florida’s great undiscovered talents and I’m equally excited to be a mentor and review their work. The Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation and Bombay Sapphire are providing emerging artists with an opportunity of a lifetime.”
Bombay Sapphire is of course famous for its designer collaborations, including the brand’s signature Bombay Sapphire Designer Glass Competition (participants design their own martini cocktail glasses) and the Bombay Saphhire Prize, which is presented each year to an outstanding artist or designer whose work features a strong role for glass.
