Zhao Wei wearing a timepiece from the new Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous collection
Jaeger-LeCoultre was all about the ladies at the recent Shanghai International Film Festival, when the fine Swiss manufacture unveiled Rendez-Vous, their latest women’s collection.
Chinese leading lady Zhao Wei, a long-time friend of the brand, was spotted mingling among a host of specially invited international luminaries, who were seen admiring the delicate timepieces on display.
The new Jaeger-LeCoultre Rendez-Vous is the Grande Maison’s singularly feminine tribute to the finest haute horlogerie traditions. An Art Deco-influenced collection, the dials, offered in 29 and 34mm, are swathed in steel or pink gold, set in diamonds and enlivened with the subtle relief of the guilloché pattern radiating from the center.
Upping the ante for high society soirees, Jaeger-LeCoultre also proffers an haute joaillerie spin-off of the Rendez-Vous. Seen above is the exquisite Rendez-Vous Wild Rose in white gold, with romantic swirls of iridescent white, pink and violet mother-of-pearl arranged like petals on the dial. The gem-set rosebud centers around a blinding inverted diamond heart, beating with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s in-house mechanical automatic movement, Calibre 898B.
Meanwhile, the Rendez-Vous Tourbillon Enamel watches wed the time-honored art of enamelling with the clever tourbillon mechanism, courtesy of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s famous Calibre 978. Also featuring a delicate rose motif in golden autumnal shades against a find hand-guillochéd backdrop, the star attraction is the breath-taking mechanical lacework of the tourbillon device at 6 o’clock.
