Andy Lau, Lin Chiling and Zhang Jiangchu at the Dubai press conference
Starring Andy Lau, Lin Chiling and newcomer Zhang Jiangchu, key scenes in the contemporary action film “Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains” will be shot at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai, making it the first Chinese film to be predominantly produced outside China. The announcement was made at a press conference attended by the lead actors at The Palm this week.
With a production cost of more than RMB100 million, the project is the largest Chinese film investment yet. The cast features Asia’s biggest names, including Lau from Hong Kong, praised locally as a “King” by his millions of fans, Tong and Zhang from China as well as Lin from Taiwan.
“The agenda is really tight and we often need to act day after night,” says actors Lau, Lin and Zhang. “Although the high-tech and exotic landscapes do help to give us an illusion of being on vacation.”
Commenting on his upcoming film, director Jay Sun said: “In my movie, Dubai is as beautiful as heaven and as precious as a pearl. The promotion of the movie will continue for 6 months, during which the wonderful pictures of Dubai will continue to be strengthened and spread around the world, making residents proud of their city.”
