Attended by Chanel ambassadors including Kristen Stewart, Tilda Swinton and Gisele Bundchen; the cruise 2016 show from Chanel headed to South Korea for a colorful outing of bold silhouettes and shapes that paid tribute to the Korean hanbok.
Noted for its large sleeves and rounded shoulders, creative director Karl Lagerfeld drew inspiration from the traditional Korean garment for a selection of dresses, jackets and gowns. The inspiration fit in with Chanel’s heritage including woven tweeds and raw silk fabrics. Evening wear also channeled the hanbok with high waistlines and voluminous shapes.
